Append File List

jfernandez10 @ Fri Oct 03 14:46:31 EEST 2014
I'm trying to create a Task so that when a file is downloaded it writes the file path and name to a txt document. I've created a task that writes to the file using {real_path}. However it will not append the txt document. If I check overwrite it overwrites the file. How do I have it just append to the file previously created.

Its on the add after, leave that part blank for the Find item, and then put your variable into that tab of the WriteFile task.

Ok I made the modifications. Works Great if only single file is uploaded. Problem occurs with multiple files uploaded at same time. I'm only using {real_path}; in the add after tab and its only in the bottom portion of that tab under contents . All other fields are blank in the tabbed section.File written has duplicate entries, but it only happens with multiple uploads single uploads work fine.

What is you enable loop through items?

I checked and Loop through items is not checked. On the task designer screen it says false.

I also checked and I'm at 7.1.0_164.

So enable it then...

otherwise, it does one item, not all the items.

I enabled loop and it does the same thing. It double posts to the log file C:tpInkjet est1.txtC:tpInkjet est2.txtC:tpInkjet est1.txtC:tpInkjet est2.txt

Email us directly at support with a screenshot of your event / job setup so we can see what your doing.

I think your event/job is running multiple times possibly too...

OK Thanks

Just wanted to update on the fix. The reason why the file entries were posting twice was that I had no data in the txt files used for testing. Once I added some info to the text files then it works Great! Apparently the browser application has a problem with files with no data, so it writes them twice.
Thanks Ben for your help getting this resolved
