DMZ

bstruck @ Tue Sep 02 09:33:42 EEST 2014
I have done everything to get the DMZ going, except the template user. When i create the template user and try and use the settings as it shows in the screenshot of the instructions every time I save it resets to be generic.

Any help? It is just saying access denied when i try and login to the DMZ box

So I did a diagnostics test on the DMZ and got the following. Would this be a firewall on the windows box or on the DMZ box? What ports need to be open?

Error on DMZ server

My apologies. For whatever reason we don't get forum notifications for posts in "General Questions" which delays our replies here. Just now saw your post.

It all depends on what IP info you entered into the diagnostics. Don't allow it to be auto for the test so you can know which IP its going to try.

The connect refused indicates you had a PASV port configuration that doesn't match your firewall or router configuration is my guess. Typically we recommend 2000-2100.

The log snippet in CrushFTP from this diagnostic test would help too.

Thanks,
Ben

Thanks for the reply. Where do I tell it to use port 2000 to 2100, I thought it used port 9000 then port 80 for http communications.

Where do I get the log snippet from?

FYI - I am going to also setup the Session replication which I am working on now.

Connect to the admin on your internal server, use the instance selector to then change to the DMZ, and go to the prefs, FTP port. There you set the PASV port range.

Thanks,
Ben

I never changed the default. So I am assuming it is 21 still.

Found it, changed it to 2000-2100

Still Access denied on FTP and Connection refused on SFTP

Please provide exact logs, or screenshots. We are misunderstanding each other entirely.

If you have connection refused, your pointing to a location that doesn't have a port listening.

Is your sftp port on 22 or 2222? What did you test towards? Make sure you change the port to be where your testing to and expecting to use.

What is the easiest way to put screen shots or logs into the forum?

Here is the session log from the DMZ side.
