What types of files are you wanting to search inside of?

How many of these files do you have?

Thanks,
Ben

I am not sure how this matter how many files are there in the directory, but anyway, there are hardly few in a test scenario may be 10 atmost and all of them are text files.

I'm asking because the solution is not *simple*. Its a file parser that handles almost all file types, word docs, pdf, excel, text, etc. So its powerful ins hat it does...but its not "quick".

So if your planning to index 300,000 word documents across a network server...well, I wanted to prepare you for what toe expect.

Let me dig up the docs and get back to you.

Go download the tika-app.jar file.

http://tika.apache.org/download.html

Remove the version from its name, it must be exactly tika-app.jar

Place it in your CrushFTP folder. Its presence there means CrushFTP will try and run it while building its search index.

You then need to configure your search in CrushFTP to use a database in the prefs, search config. This will require your own MySQL DB, or MS SQL DB to hold the indexed searches of files. When it indexes it will use tika to build data about the file....so that later searches can find that info.
