Accessing folders and files on a Linux machine from windows

essupport @ Tue May 06 04:51:11 EEST 2014
Hi there ,

We run CRUSHFTP (Version 6.4.0 Build : 133) on a windows server , and works great.
Accessing a windows folder to find files is OK , but now we need to access a folder on a Linux machine.
I tried this , but it seems not to work.

I mapped the folder that we need in the windows environement , but when i try to access it it gives zero files .
If i access it with windows explorer i can see several files and manipulate them.

do we need to set up special permissions within Linux ?

any idea ??

Hi, essuport.

MS decided that services can not access the shared or mapped drives.
CrushFTP is running as a service.
You can use the UNC path to get to the files.
In the Admin>>UserManager>>UserName at the server files instead of the / use //servername/sharename/ that should let you see and add folder to the User Stuff.

Thanks,
Arpad.

Hi Arpad ,

Thanks for the response.
I forgot to mention that this was for a automated job , and we found a workaround.
