SFTP upload "stalls"

Hello,

I am on CrushFTP Version 7.3.0 Build : 41

I am having a problem that SFTP uploads freeze and will not complete.  I can connect to the server just fine,  The User Info tab shows my user name as connected.  I start a file upload and the user name is removed from the list of active connections.  My client software seems to think the upload has started but the upload never completes.  If I stop the current transfer and start another file upload my client software reports that it "Cannot send/receive/list at this time, connection Busy" and "data port failed.  Error loading directory".

HTML interfaces is working fine.  FTP also works, but seems slower than the HTML interface.  Below is the log file from Crush FTP for this connection.  Any help with this problem would be great?

Once your on CrushFTP 7.7 let us know.  Its a free upgrade, and required from a security standpoint.  Only one your current can we debug what might be going on with SFTP.  Lots of library fixes for SFTP since 7.3 days.

Thanks,

Ben

Hello,

So I have gotten the upgrade done and that went well.  The problem is that now the SFTP won't connect at all.  My client is reporting the following error when it connects now.

Resolving delivery.mirada-medical.com...

delivery.mirada-medical.com [2222] connecting...

SSH-2.0-CrushFTPSSHD

diffie-hellman-group1-sha1

client -> aes128-ctr

server -> aes128-ctr

Disconnected

Failed to read binary packet data!

SFTP connection error

I can't seem to find any logging on the CrushFTP side for this connection.  Other interfaces all seem to be working fine still.

Your client is using an insecure key exchange...and by default we disable it since...well...we care about security.  If you want to temporarily allow things to be insecure like they used to be, set "ssh_sha1_kex_allowed" in the prefs.XML file to be true.

Or use a newer client that isn't using insecure key exchange methods...

Thanks,

Ben

So thanks for the help with this.  It seems it was my old version of CrushFTP software and a bad client.  Upgraded both software items and it is working fine.

Thanks,

Philip
